The Microbiome

What is the microbiome? The microbiome are the collective of over 10 million microbes including bacteria, fungi and viruses that naturally live on and in our bodies. A large proportion reside in the gut where they function intricately to help digest food, fight infections, produce certain hormones and synthesize certain vitamins. There is now significant research that indicates the importance of the gut microbiome and its impact on health.
