Physiotherapy is a modality used to restore, maintain and promote health in people using techniques to reduce pain, and prevent further injury. Physiotherapists will often use a combination of ‘hands on’ techniques including massage, joint mobilisation and stretching. Sometimes your physiotherapist may prescribe exercises for you to do at home to assist with your treatment and move towards your health goal faster.

We have two physiotherapists; Kim and Bella; at Essence of Health.

Kim is currently on maternity leave. She will be returning in 2023.

Bella is available for women’s health including prenatal and postnatal care, pregnancy, pelvic floor conditions and general health.

Women's Health

Kim has a musculoskeletal background and enjoys working with all types of patients. She uses hands on techniques as well as exercise prescription and patient education, which she believes all contribute to long term management and a healthy lifestyle.

Bella has completed further education in Women’s Health and is interested in treating prenatal and postnatal health, pregnancy related conditions, pelvic floor issues, endometriosis and general health.

Common conditions treated with physiotherapy are:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain

Kim and Bella have completed further education in pre and postnatal physiotherapy.  They both enjoy helping antenatal clients manage any issues that may arise during this time, as well as encouraging them to keep fit and active.

Pregnancy Massage

At Essence of Health we understand the importance of supporting mother and baby. Our physiotherapist Kim will tailor each pregnancy massage specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies. A benefit to seeing Kim for massage during your pregnancy is she’s highly skilled and trained to identify problematic areas, that may need additional treatment. Kim can provide either a tailored style pregnancy massage treatment, or a hands-on treatment-based physiotherapy session, isolating areas of concern. Ask one of our staff members which appointment might best suit you.
