Adenomyosis Awareness Month

April is Adenomyosis Awareness Month.

Adenomyosis is sometimes confused with Endometriosis as it involves the endometrial lining of the uterus growing where it shouldn’t. However, unlike endometriosis where endometrial cells grow on the outside of the uterus and other internal organs, in adenomyosis, the cells grow in the uterine wall itself.

This can lead to symptoms of heavy and prolonged bleeding, severe period pain, clotting, nausea, stabbing pain at any time of the month and bowel issues just to name a few.

Acupuncture and Naturopathy may help to address some of the symptoms of adenomyosis. So if you think this condition may affect you or you have been recently diagnosed, please contact us to make an appointment.
